Address Assignment

Address Assignment

Addressing is based on a mileage post system in the Uinta County Rural Address System, which is the distance in miles from the beginning of an addressable road to the point being addressed. Once an address has been assigned, if the the landowner prefers, they can simply pick up the rural address sign at the Planning & Zoning Office to install themselves. For example, if your address is 1234 County Road 123, the property is 1.234 miles from the start of the County Road. If the address is 123 County Rd 123, the property is .123 miles from the start of the County Road.  This addressing system can aid law enforcement and first responders in locating the property.

The Planning Department will assign an address simultaneously with the required Zoning Certificate and/or building permit.
